Sophomore Announcements and Information

Sophomore Meetings
Counselors will meet with all sophomores in small groups in April. We will talk about plans after high school and how to research college information. We will also review resources on the Student Services website and CFNC.org.

PSAT Information
The PSAT was administered on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. PSAT scores will be available online to students mid-December. Students who provided their email address on their PSAT answer sheet will receive an email reminder from the College Board explaining where and how to view their scores. Paper copies of scores will be distributed mid-December. The paper copy will have the student’s ACCESS code needed to view their scores online through their College Board Account.
For details on what is covered on the test, visit the PSAT Information page.

Interpreting PSAT Scores
Listed below are websites that can be used to help understand and use a student’s PSAT Scores. Students who need additional assistance understanding their score report should email their counselor.
     My College Quick Start
This program is free to use and allows students to get personalized college and career planning based on their test scores. Once students go
to this site, they will enter their online access code which can be found on their score report.

     PSAT Student Score Report
This link explains how to interpret the score report.

PreACT Information
All sophomores will take the PreACT on November 6, 2019 free of charge. For more details on the test, visit the PreACT information page.

Interpreting PreACT Scores
Sophomores will receive their PreACT score report in mid-December. LRHS will only receive one report for each student, so keep it in a safe spot as no additional reports are available. For more information, watch the video on understanding your score. Students are also encouraged to set up an ACT account, as they will take the ACT for free during the spring semester of the junior year. Students may email their assigned counselor if they have questions.
